Seeing a need for non-profit work in the area of cat and dog sterilization in Mexico, we formed a charity in British Columbia, Canada to conduct regular spay/neuter clinics in Mexico. These are also known as High Quality/High Volume (HQ/HV) 'pop-up" clinics.

Gina, our Representative in Mexico, along with co-organizers, veterinarians, anaesthesiologists and volunteers, all play an integral role at our sterilization clinics on the 3rd Sunday of each month. In Canada, our Board Members fundraise and conduct the administrative work involved with being a Registered Charity.

Our Mission
Our mission is to make a positive impact on animal welfare by offering free and low-cost spay/neuter services in Mexico. We aim to break the cycle of the cat/dog overpopulation crisis, to reduce the suffering of stray animals and to promote a culture of responsible cat/dog guardianship.
What is a High Quality/High Volume Sterilization Clinic ?
- A High-Quality/High Volume (HQ/HV) sterilization clinic is a specialized veterinary service focused on providing spaying (female) and neutering (male) procedures for animals. These clinics are designed to operate efficiently and effectively, allowing veterinarians to perform a large number of surgeries in a short period while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. Veterinarians use streamlined surgical techniques and processes to maximize the number of animals they can sterilize in a day. The veterinarians and support staff are experienced and specially trained in high-volume surgical techniques. Despite the high-volume of animals, veterinarians follow strict medical protocols and do not compromise on the quality of care. Post-operative instructions to ensure a safe recovery are provided to each client. HQ/HV clinics play a crucial role in reducing the cat/dog overpopulation and can offer services at a lower cost thus making the sterilization procedure more accessible to animal guardians and rescue organizations.
FSSNA clinics are held in a small building located in a parking lot. "Pop-up Clinics" can be organized in parks or markets by setting up tents and tables.
