We are a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency since August 17, 2023. Forgotten Souls was founded by a young business woman and a retired teacher from British Columbia, Canada. While we are fortunate to live in a country of privilege, Mexico faces significant economic challenges. Many people struggle, and countless animals suffer as a result. Our charity was created to help cat/dog guardians who cannot afford to spay or neuter their animals. We are also dedicated to reducing the number of homeless animals in Mexico—many of whom endure disease, injury, abuse, and starvation while roaming the streets.
We are all volunteer run. Our donations are mainly spent on veterinarian/anesthesiologist fees and medical supplies. We held our first free and low-cost spay/neuter clinic on May 28, 2023. By the end of that year, we had completed 1,009 sterilizations. In 2024, we performed an additional 1,656 procedures. As we move into 2025, our vision is to continue our work in Ensenada, Mexico, while also launching free and low-cost monthly clinics in the small villages of the municipality of Jilotepec which is located in Central Mexico.
We invite you to join us on this journey of love and compassion for all beings.

We are dedicated to ending the suffering of stray cats and dogs in Mexico by addressing the root cause of overpopulation—lack of access to affordable sterilization. Through our monthly free and low-cost spay/neuter clinics, we tackle this crisis one animal at a time. By sterilizing as many dogs and cats as possible and educating communities on the importance of responsible animal care, we strive to create lasting change and a future where no cat/dog is left to suffer on the streets.
Our mission is to combat the overpopulation crisis of cats and dogs in Mexico by addressing the financial barriers to sterilization. We believe that many animal guardians lack the resources to spay or neuter their animals, contributing to the growing number of stray animals. To create lasting change, we provide free and low-cost spay and neuter clinics each month, making responsible cat/dog guardianship accessible to all.
